Museums give you plenty to talk about, so there are no awkward silences. Ottawa has some of the biggest in the country, and they are close together. Here are three ways to make a museum date work.
Meet at the spider
Maman, the giant bronze spider outside the National Gallery, is hard to miss. Inside, the collection spans Indigenous, Canadian and international art. Book tickets online to skip the queue.

Tour the State rooms at Rideau Hall
Guided tours of the Governor General's residence show off its State rooms and art. You can also explore the grounds on a self-guided walk. It is a quieter option than the big museums.
