Dating safely
Most people you meet are exactly who they say. These habits protect you from the few who aren’t.
Report romance scams to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre
If someone you met online asks for money, stop contact, tell your bank and call your local police. Report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre on 1-888-495-8501 or through its online Fraud Reporting System.
Contacting Ottawa Police
Call 911 in an emergency. If you lost money to a scam in Ottawa, report it to Ottawa Police on the non-emergency line, 613-236-1222, or through its online reporting.
Getting home on the O-Train
Line 1 runs until 1am Monday to Thursday, 2am on Friday and Saturday, and 11pm on Sunday. After that, night buses marked N cover the route. Check the last train before you head out.
