In shortCentretown is dense, walkable and full of cafés, with the Rideau Canal along its eastern edge. Lots of people who work downtown live here, so after-work dates are easy. In winter the canal becomes the city's main street.

An evening on the Skateway
The Skateway is about 7.8 km long, free, and open day and night when the ice is ready, usually from January to early March. There are skate rentals, food vendors and change rooms along the way. Check the NCC ice conditions page before you go.
